Being a mural artist you’re constantly in the search for places to paint. While an oil painter needs a canvas to get startet, the mural painter will have to find himself a wall.

As a commissioned artist I don’t have to worry about that. The client provides the wall – I paint it.

But when it comes to personal work it can become quite tricky. Sometimes though, there are opportunities popping up.

About two weeks ago, me and my artist friend Smoe, both got keys for an abandoned factory building and the owner’s permission to paint in there.

What an absolute dream!

The factory area is huge and offers an endless amount of walls to get creative.
Yesterday I finished my first one in there. It was supposed to be a quick one-day-painting, just to get a feel for what it’s like to paint in there.
As always I got carried away painting the details and ended up working in there for three days.

I’m very happy with the result. You can watch the making-of in the video below.
